MY THOUGHTS ON TEACHING
I recognise that everyone deserves the opportunity to expand their potential. Every one of my students are important to me regardless of whether they are enthusiasts or inspiring professionals.
I'm a dedicated guitar and bass teacher with experience primarily in jazz and pop techniques. I can help you with fundamental classical techniques including bowing.
My lessons provide you with a wide variety of knowledge. Whether you are at the beginning or advanced student level, increasing your understanding as you learn will increase your enjoy the music making process.
Lessons are taught in a casual format, on a weekly basis to begin with. Half-hour or full-hour lessons are offered. A program is followed, but lessons can be personalised to cater to the individual wants and needs. Some pupils have set goals and achievements to gain. i.e. Exam or audition preparation.
Theory is the cornerstone by which lessons are taught. Pupils excel when they know the reasons why. It’s not enough to instruct a pupil to do as I say. There is a strong reason for teaching the theory as well as the practical side of music making. For this reason, theory is taught and nothing is taught for teachers sake. Balance is of strong significance.
With my customizable approach, I’ve seen my students’ self-esteem and skill-set rise. I love what I do and it makes me happy to be able to share my passion with others.
