Band Director
School & Community Band Coaching
Being part of a band is a wonderful experience for students of any age. There is no prior schooling required to join; only a passion for learning and a love of music.
Being part of a band, students learn to play an instrument, read music, develop an appreciation and understanding of a wide range of musical styles. And as one learns to play at a certain level, many performance opportunities arise. Skills learned in band, such as increased concentration and self-discipline carry over into all parts of our lives whether you are at school or juggling a professional life.
After my time as a defence musician, I started directing community and school bands as part of my broader teaching schedule. I enjoy making great music, and I enjoy sharing my musical experiences and talent with others.
As musicians we love to entertain and share our music with an audience. Whether it is playing tunes at community events or shopping centre mall, there is no end to the wonderful joys that music bring to those who perform and listen.
As a band director, my role is to keep it fun and engaging whilst striving to perform at the highest level. There is great joy in playing well and a great sense of personal pride.
